A few hours ago I was sitting on the couch watching a movie. The clouds to the East started to darken. Within just a few minutes the Silver Maple in my front yard turned her leaves upside down. The distant rumble of thunder could be heard. The clouds had moved in quickly and what was a sunny afternoon looked more like twilight. Thunder was strong with the leading edge of the storm overhead. It brought with it a wind to be reckoned with. The Maple in the front yard now was just trying to hang on to her leaves. Then came the rain. As the old saying goes it was like the bottom fell out of the clouds. For maybe five minutes, Bolt Mountain received a heavenly cleansing. As fast as it started, it was over. There was a light rain still in the air as the sun came back out.
The reason I called this post a Heavenly Cleansing is because as the storm passed it left these rainbows in its wake. It was like the storm was saying, “Sorry, had to do that, here is a gift for you.”
This was a breathtaking display. The lowest and brightest rainbow itself was made of multiple rainbows. You can see a little of the rainbows that are lined up behind it as they drop down one row with each new rainbow. The angle of the sun… And the brightest bunch in the picture was the smallest of three present.
