Today is my daughters birthday. She is turning nineteen. This should be a happy post but unfortunately…
I haven’t seen my daughter in a few years. Actually I have seen her once since I took her mother to court three years ago for custody. (link to related post) I actually started another blog to tell the story of the court battle but to be honest it was just to painful to remember. I was fighting for my kids future and lost. But anyway, just in case of some unforeseen miracle. I wanted to give my daughter this message. I have to do it here because I don’t know where she is. She came around to her mama’s way of thinkin’, so to speak.

I fought so hard to keep our lives from turning out exactly as they have. I fought for the right to be a part of your life and lost the small role I was playing. If I had only known how it would end. I miss you, every day… I think about you, every day… and I worry that you are alright, every day. Since today is your birthday I will think about you all day whether I want to or not. But that is just because I Love You. You will always be my little girl. I hope that you see sometime before it’s too late that I’m not the man your mother claims me to be. I would love to have my daughter back. I think I had better stop here. I just wanted to tell you Happy Birthday and that I Love and miss you with all my being.

my daughter turned 10 yesterday, and I am here and she is with her mother. I miss her all the time and regret the years that I am not going to be a close part of her growing up years. I need a hike too.

I feel your pain… I missed those years with my kids and the years are unrecoverable. I think about that all the time. My whole problem was the ex. Too much control combined with a legal system on her side, no matter if she was right or wrong. Personal experience speaking there… hope you get the opportunity to be a part of your daughters life.
