I’ve been threatening to do it for a while. I finally took the plunge and bought a new camera. As much as I like to take photos this was a well justified expense. I didn’t go high end because of the potential for disaster while out roaming the mountains. I have dropped one off of a cliff, accidentally of course and the potential for damage is always present in the unknown. So instead I bought one mid range it’s a Kodak Easyshare C613 6.2 megapixel. It will cover everything I need. So far I am very happy with it and plan on a hike tomorrow to really put it through it’s paces.

These are the very first photos from the camera. This one from driving is one of those ‘I just bought it and have to take a picture right now‘ scenarios and was taken in Beckley. Hey at least it is not of my feet. :)

Last weekend I promised to take some color progression photos. It’s amazing how fast the leaves are changing in some areas. It’s a beautiful time of the year in West Virginia.

It’s actually very beautiful in a lot of states when the leaves start changing. I spent a year or so in New Hampshire once upon a lifetime ago. Seeing those mountains during the peak color season is something I will always remember. I seem to remember something about a wonderful roast beef dinner as well but, alas, that is a story for another day.

I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!!!

btw - The last two photos were taken from my back porch.

After scrolling down to the bottom of your page, I see you have really taken some great photos Gramps :-)

I feel like I just took a Sunday drive through the country! Not to shabby…

    Thanks for sharing the view.

  2. Thanks for the compliment Speedcat. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

  3. The new camera looks like an excellent choice! Nice photos. Leaves are changing here in Denver– but around town only. The mountains lost their leaves a month ago.

    Congrats on the grandchild!!
