An Optical Adventure

The new website opticaladventure.com is up and running. I don’t have any photos there yet but the layout and theme are pretty much set. I been slavin’ over a hot keyboard for hours. But anyway, go check it out let me know what you think.

While building the latest new site I couldn’t help but think of all the old new sites. I have ten domains. Two of them I now use, two of them I sponsor and the other six are bad ideas or sites I just lost interest in and parked. I guess I’m kind of hoping that someday I’ll be able to dig them out like an old baseball card and one of them turn out to be worth a million bucks to someone… or something like that. At any rate, I have good feelings about the new site. I simply love to take photos and with the new site I don’t feel constrained to a certain niche. For example…

This is one of my favorite photos. I took it last year, about this time, while working a job at Mt. Storm, West Virginia. It was the way the sky contrasted with everything else. Getting to the point… I have a story to go with this photo and had no place I was comfortable telling it because of its industrial nature. With the new blog I don’t feel restricted to the outdoors. Don’t get me wrong, I love the outdoors and it would be a safe bet to say that eighty percent of the photos on the new blog will be outdoor related but the other twenty will be whatever catches my fancy… so to speak. I guess you could say I’m expanding or broadening my horizons. Yeah, that too… but mostly, I enjoy sharing my view.
