It looks like I am going to be getting on your nerves for awhile. I’ve been totally disabled until the end of April. Complications from the amputated fingers on the same hand as the broken thumb contributed to the extended disability.
I’m glad for that in only one way - I can continue my crusade unimpeded.
I’m going to talk about that just a little bit - the crusade. There are so many different negative aspects of MTR that it is very difficult to remain within one aspect on any given topic. Most of the reason for that is simply because one aspect inadvertently affects many others. I hope not to confuse you too much in talking about MTR but if you read long enough you will see how it is all connected.
One of my co-authors on the Stop MTR site has posted a link to a video from PBS.org that will tell you more about the suffering of a proud people than I could ever do in written word. It took them 13 years to get a clean drink of water. Maybe when you see the video you will more understand my motivation.
And yet, it goes on…

You’ll have to put that link back together - that was the first accident and it caused the second which is a compound fracture to the thumb.
Marian - thanks I’m dealing quite well.

Sorry to hear about the hand, but they do say that things happen for a reason. Maybe your reason was the fight against MTR.
By the way, if you haven’t seen it yet The Hunter’s Wife has a Blogging for Appalachia Challenge post up.
