Sometimes when I am bored I like to just draw. I’ve never been real good at it and like to practice whenever I can. I decided to play with my new best friends photo a little bit. Boy I sure hope Donny boy can take a joke. Like I said, I never claimed to be an artist but I will get better.

Well I don’t know if it’s artistic or not…but it still cracked me up and I don’t even know your friend….

Denny,
I’m folkface’s lil sister, and he turned me onto yer blog. The ramp photo broke my heart. I love ramps, I love mountains, and I hate MTR. I love a mile away from a godawful mtr site that’s 14 miles long in eastern KY. I hate MTR too, and applaud you for your courage to give these bastards a run for their money.
I found your last post (where the comments are blocked) encouraging and a motivation to fight the fight, even though I have been afraid of retaliation if word gets out in the community living in rural place doesn’t always make you feel the safest at night when you’ve freaked yourself out about coalthugs… anyway, thank you for sharing your struggle with these bastards. It’s great to know that there are allies out there in cyberspace that we don’t get a chance to meet!
I have friends over in Coal River who work at CRMW who are harassed and targeted by the coal company buffoons. I despise MASSEY energy, Nally and Hamilton, Arch, Peabody, and whatever other assholes like them, who turn a blind eye to what they are doing to people in coalfield communities and try to blame the people instead, destroying our mountains, our ramp patches, important cultural and natural zones that are among the best in the world (in my book).
Yer not alone in the struggle, unless you want to be. There are others of us out there, and you have encouraged this one to be more brave today.
to the end of king coal,
roaninky

I love this! Thank you for inspiring a light moment in a very heavy struggle.
No matter how hard the work is, how threatened we feel, how tired/frustrated we are, its these little moments when we can crack a smile that will get us through the long days and nights of resistance and revolution!!!

So… what did you draw? I just see a photo of Don Blankenship.

Morgan - thanks and it’s ok - he is my new best friend after all.
Roaninky - that you very much for commenting. I can’t do this alone - that would be similar to taking the beach at Normandy with a rubber raft and a cap gun.
Jaybird - it is good to “see” you. I was wondering if you had ventured to near the edge of the earth. Glad to see you are OK.

Nice blog and nice artwork. I hate mtr. and I wish Blanketship would do the world a favor by putting a shotgun in his mouth and pulling the trigger. What a greedy arrogant moron.

Kristopher - thanks for commenting and I couldn’t agree more if I were twins. I would even be willing to spend the money to buy the shotgun for him. Hell I’ll even load it.
Hollergirl - thanks and I’m definitely going to be watching for the commercial.
Brian - I’m glad you got a kick out of my pirate/devil/new best friend.
