One Extreme To The Next
One of my favorite aspects to riding an ATV in the mountains is the range of terrain available to enjoy. One can go from wide open roads…
to narrow winding trails…
to extreme climbing/riding…
… all in the space of a single afternoon.
I went searching for the cemetery I mentioned in my last post and failed miserably in that search. I couldn’t find the trail leading up to a strip road that would take me in the area of the cemetery. Although I failed in my search, I had a blast looking.
On Google Earth when I drew a straight line between where I live and the search area, it was exactly ten miles. With the winding roads going up and down the hollows, the twenty mile round trip ended up being closer to a 75 mile round trip.
I wonder how far the trails in the mountains would reach if we were to straighten them and lay them out end to end? I’d say we would be able to get there from here.
Alright I’m done rambling. I haven’t/can’t give up on my search for the Bailey Cemetery. I have some stories to tell you about it and would really like to visit it again before I do, it’s been quite a while. So the search continues.
