Life Happens

As it is sometimes apt to do, life happens.

I’ve been working on getting back to the blogs now for a few weeks. There have been some things happen in my life that kind of dominate my thought processes and being as that is the case all of my blogs have once again suffered the consequences.

I’m working right now on a scheduled posting scheme for the blogs. Regardless of the troubles in my life a couple of things will always remain true, my love for the mountains and the outdoors and my total and complete disgust with mountaintop removal coal mining and those who perpetuate this crime against nature and humanity.

The Endmtr.com blog will be updated once a week starting on Sept. 28. Posts to that blog are going to be a lot more in-depth with a little less ranting. I have been turned off with the mountaintop removal battle mainly because the subject alienates me from everybody it would seem, friend and foe alike.

As far as this blog and the Boltmountain.com blog, I’m thinking about consolidating the two. Since neither blog is part of a blogging community then I don’t feel posts need to happen every day but I do feel that without daily posts these blogs also need scheduled posting. Mainly to give the few visitors that do keep coming back an idea of when to expect another post. All of these changes will be occurring between now and Sept. 28 and will hopefully carry the blogs through winter with minimal downtime.

At any rate, those are my plans and hopefully life will happen in such a way as to allow me to carry them out.

Denny, I love your blogs! I have family in the area and love to visit. Every time I visit your site its like taking a vacation. I hope you will be able to continue. I know what you mean about being alienated when the topic of MTR comes up.

Thanx Glenn – one way or another the blogs will live on.

I hate feeling alienated when MTR comes up. I’m a people person and I am usually pretty good at making friends. But above that I am a hillbilly and the mountains are my passion. You’d probably be surprised at how torn I am between wanting to keep my friends and needing to speak out about MTR. Unfortunately it seems to be one option or the other. In West Virginia, your friends judge you by how far you look in the other direction especially when faced with MTR. They expect you to see far enough to be able to look past the pollution, look over the destruction, and not even see the distraught residents. I have a problem with that.

Sorry, usually doesn’t take much to get me started. ;)

Thanx for visiting and coming back.

  • Good Luck, I enjoy the blogs But I know that they can sometimes take a lot out of a person to try to keep them up to date. Look forward to reading your future posts!
